Build a name with big-brand businesses and corporate clients, delivering high-quality nutritious meals for boardroom lunches, executive events, and daily workplace dining. This role calls for a chef who can blend maintaining excellent standards, while working efficiently in a fast-paced, trend-setting, client-focused environment.
What you'll do- Deliver consistent, high-quality service in line with company standards and contract requirements.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, food hygiene, cleanliness, and relevant regulations (e.g., COSHH).
- Support food preparation and contribute to menu innovation, including healthy and sustainable options.
- Assist with catering requests, special functions, and daily service delivery.
- Maintain site standards in line with Service Level Agreements and KPIs.
- Liaise with chefs and management on food service operations and standards.
- Ensure weekly training and full compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations.
- Plan and cost menus using Recipe Online and Chef's Work to meet budgeted food costs.
- Oversee stock control, ordering, and rotation in line with company procedures.
- Deliver craft training to promote healthy eating, quality presentation, and food promotions.
- Monitor and maintain food quality, portion control, and correct service temperatures.
- Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards are maintained throughout the kitchen and storage areas.
- Control costs (labour, stock, expenses) within agreed budget levels.
- Ensure equipment is safe, serviced, and any issues are promptly reported.
- Maintain fridge/freezer temperature logs and full compliance with HACCP and the Food Safety Act.
- Plan and manage kitchen staffing schedules based on skill and business needs.
- Provide friendly, efficient service and support special functions as needed, including outside normal hours.
- Report complaints, incidents, or irregularities in line with company procedures.
- Support continuous improvement through promotions and initiatives to drive contract success.
- Proven experience as a Chef in a high volume setting
- Professional cookery or culinary qualifications
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise tasks
- Commitment to maintaining the highest food safety and hygiene standards
