Role Summary

The Programme Planning Executive will play a key role in providing support to the Head of Programme Planning in delivering the NCH programme and works closely with the Promoters Manager on concert bookings and room hire. The Programme Planning Executive will contribute to the delivery of the overall programme in line with our values.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Venue rental and scheduling of events – liaising with Promoters, Artists and prospective hirers before, during, and after hires as required.
  • Preparing and processing contracts of hire.
  • Create and respond to opportunities to generate income through use of our venues by concert promoters, arts-aligned organisations, independent artists and corporate clients.
  • Respond to rental queries and ensure the contracting of hires is concluded thoroughly and in line with on sale timelines.
  • Maintain relationships and communication with a range of internal NCH teams to ensure the smooth delivery of events, including Operations, Learning and Participation, Marketing, Box Office, Finance and others.
  • Marketing and Box Office liaison, including setting up events, manage tickets and monitoring sales.
  • Support the producing of NCH programme including the contracting of creative teams including artists and speakers and liaising with relevant suppliers.
  • Supporting the advancing and producing of NCH promoted events – confirming all details of a concert in advance of the show date, liaising with Artists' Management, Tour Managers and Agents.
  • Updating the events management software Artifax with relevant concert and event information, generating reports.
  • Build and maintains excellent relationships across a wide cross-section of partners, including artists, agents, promoters, composers, resident artists and arts organisations.
  • To undertake any other duties which may be reasonably required in the above position.
The PersonEssential Requirements
  • At least 1 year's experience in a comparable role in arts organisation.
  • 3rd Level qualification with relevant knowledge of the arts and arts administration sector.
  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong relationships.
  • Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • A self-starter, able to thrive in a demanding environment and foster cross-departmental collaboration with other NCH functions.
  • Judgement and discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong IT skills particularly with Microsoft Excel, Sharepoint, and Microsoft Teams.
  • A positive approach, and a commitment to upholding the NCH values of Respect, Integrity, Collaboration and Excellence.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience working with Artifax event management software.
  • Experience dealing with promoters / artists in an arts and culture context.

Salary & Duration of Contract

The Executive Officer (PPC) salary scale applies (rates effective from 1st August 2025) as follows: €37,919 €39,860 €40,956 €43,094 €45,010 €46,864 €48,711 €50,519 €52,366 €54,207 €56,160 €57,469 €59,3351 €61,2162

The salary will be at the 1st point of the Executive Officer Scale - €37,919 per annum.

The role is offered as a temporary, full-time role on a Specified Purpose Contract (SPC) for a period of no longer than 13 months.
