Salary: €43,000- €63,000

Job Description:

The Collective Sensory Group (CSG) is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide a high quality, person-centred service to children with a range of disabilities.The post will be working with children attending our charity service in our clinic based in Wexford. OT services focus on 1:1 intervention and assessment, along with opportunities to develop groups.

Adult and Family Support services are also provided within CSG. There may be opportunity to rotate into OT roles in these services should this be a professional development goal of the employee recruited.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Participation in the development of clinical protocols and guidelines reflective of evidence-based practice.
  • Management of clinical and non-clinical caseloads appropriate to the post.
  • Promoting a culture that values equality, diversity and respect in the workplace.
  • Understanding of and working in accordance with all relevant HSE policies, Progressing Disability Services Policies, HIQA standards, legislation and professional policies, guidelines and requirements to ensure safe practice and high standards of service delivery.
  • Communicating verbally and/or in writing, results of assessments, intervention programmes and recommendations to the family and relevant others in accordance with service policy.
  • Attending clinical meetings, case conferences and reviews as designed by the Occupational Therapy Manager or Senior Occupational Therapist
  • Management of all necessary documentation relevant to the post
  • Arranging and carrying out duties in a timely manner within settings appropriate to service users and in line with service policy/guidelines.
  • Maintaining professional standards in relation to confidentiality, ethics and legislation.

Essential Role requirements:

  • Registration with or eligibility for registration with the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
  • One year full time (or an aggregate of one year) post qualification clinical experience.
  • The requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the role.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Effective planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • Relevant ICT skills for the post
  • On appointment practitioners must maintain and provide documentation confirming upkeep of annual registration on the Occupational Therapists Register.

Desirable Role Requirements:

  • Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of working with children with a range of disabilities.
  • An understanding of disability-related legislation and standards of practice.
