Job Responsibilities (Job Brief)

The successful applicant will:

  • Deliver on the vision for the people they are supporting.
  • Support individuals to gain valued social roles and participate in meaningful creative activities through developing appropriate supports.
  • Advocate on behalf of individuals regarding their needs and preferences.
  • Support the development of Individual Plans in collaboration with the individual and the team.
Qualification Details

No minimum educational level is required for Social Care Assistant positions.

Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in facilitating and supporting people with high and/or complex needs.
  • Genuine commitment to helping people achieve positive opportunities and change.
  • Strong listening, advocacy, and rights-based approach for individuals.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team with families and other disciplines.
  • Belief in people\'s rights, inclusion, and equality.
  • Flexibility to respond to service demands.
  • Working knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations is essential.
  • Good IT skills are preferable.
Other Requirements
  • Full driver\'s license is essential.
  • All applicants will be subject to Irish Garda Vetting & Reference checks.
  • Applicants from non-EU countries must provide work authorization to take up employment in Ireland, submitted with the application.
  • Overseas Police Clearance may be required for those who have lived outside Ireland or Northern Ireland for more than 6 months since age 18.
Salary

Social Care Assistant Pay Scale: €31,278 to €43,407 per annum. Vacancies based on full-time hours (39 per week).
