Job Description:

Atlantic Projects Company are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a new-build project in Tarbert, Co. Kerry. This role is a site-based role on Tarbert Powerstation.

The role involves ensuring cost efficiency and compliance throughout project lifecycle, contributing to successful delivery within budget and time constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage cost estimates and budgets for the civil scope.
  • Prepare detailed tender documents, bills of quantities, and procurement schedules for the civil scope.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with contractors and suppliers specific to civil construction requirements.
  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure accurate cost tracking for earthworks, foundations, structures, and utilities.
  • Identify and manage cost risks, including contingencies for unforeseen site conditions.
  • Certify progress claims of subcontractors
  • Prepare and review variations and negotiate final accounts.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Stay informed on Irish construction regulations, industry standards, and market trends.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of civil construction processes, materials, and methodologies for new builds.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, particularly for earthworks and structural costs.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on teamwork.
  • Familiarity with Irish construction laws and environmental considerations.
