Veterinary Receptionist

Location: Gorey Veterinary Hospital

Position Type: Part-Time, Permanent

Start Date: October 2025

Salary: €13.50 per hour

Working Hours: Approx 30 hours per week including 1 in 4 Saturday shifts (9am-2:30pm)

No Sundays, Bank Holidays, or out-of-hours work

We're looking for a friendly, confident, and well-organised receptionist to become the welcoming face of Gorey Veterinary Hospital. This is a busy, client-facing role where your communication and multitasking skills will really shine. You'll play a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, supporting both our team and our clients in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.

• Greeting clients and managing appointments through our tailored booking system (Merlin)
• Answering calls and responding to client queries with professionalism and warmth
• Handling payments, transactions, and daily cash balancing
• Assisting with stock deliveries and light lifting where needed
• Helping keep the practice organised, clean, and welcoming
• Supporting the team with general admin duties
• Building product knowledge to better assist our clients

Our facilities include Digital Radiography, Modern multiparameter monitors, Ultrasound and upgraded clinical equipment. Our support team includes 4 receptionists who keep the day running smoothly, allowing our clinical team to focus on patient care. We are looking for a trustworthy and proactive individual who thrives in a busy, client-focused setting. The successful applicant must have:

• Previous receptionist or front-of-house experience in a customer service environment
• Strong IT skills – comfortable with Microsoft Outlook, navigating multiple systems, and data entry
• Experience with cash handling and confident discussing payments with clients
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High standards of cleanliness and organisation
• Team-oriented and willing to support others as needed
• Passion for animal welfare
