The Moriarty Group is an Irish-owned company operating in the Retail Grocery and Hospitality Industries. Our portfolio includes three large Super Valu supermarkets in Balbriggan, Skerries, and Palmerstown, Dublin 20, as well as two 4-star hotels: the Bracken Court Hotel in Balbriggan and the Courtyard Hotel in Leixlip, Co. Kildare. We employ approximately 550 people.
We are seeking a Qualified Butcher to join our butchery team at the Skerries store. If you are passionate about fresh food and have experience in a busy retail environment, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a modern supermarket setting.
The Role:This is a full-time position, averaging 45 hours per week, working 5 days over 7, including weekends and public holidays.
Main Duties:- Assist the butchery team with daily operations of the department
- Provide counter service to customers
- Manage counter merchandising and displays
- Deliver excellent customer care
- Perform HACCP duties to maintain food safety standards
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a butcher in a busy environment
- Strong knowledge of fresh meat and butchery products
- HACCP trained
- Excellent customer care skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Availability for early starts, late finishes, and weekends
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
