Are you a qualified chef with a passion for delivering exceptional culinary services in a healthcare environment? Join our dynamic team as a Chef, where your expertise will be instrumental in providing nutritious and high-quality meals within healthcare facilities in North Dublin. We are looking for full-time flexible Chefs. Working hours from Monday to Sunday, between 6:30am and 6pm. The successful candidate will prepare and serve freshly cooked meals within our clients' healthcare facilities. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to enhance patient care through your culinary skills while working alongside a dedicated team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of culinary experts to create and innovate menus and recipes that exceed quality standards.
- Prepare and present a variety of meals to meet the dietary needs and preferences of patients, following nutritional guidelines.
- Manage inventory, procurement, and cost control to meet budget goals.
- Mentor and develop kitchen staff to enhance skills and promote a positive work culture.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain an organized and efficient kitchen environment.
- Source high-quality ingredients through collaboration with suppliers.
- Label, chill, and store food appropriately.
- Practice all hygiene, cook-chill, and health and safety procedures, including Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP).
- Assist in menu planning and adaptation to optimize patient satisfaction and health outcomes.
- Continuously evaluate and update menu offerings based on customer feedback and market trends.
- Check meals at all service points throughout the site for quality, quantity, and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations, including sanitation, safety, and hygiene protocols, in line with HACCP guidelines.
- Professional chef qualifications, QQI Level 6 in Culinary Arts or equivalent are essential.
- Proven experience in a kitchen or catering environment, particularly within healthcare, is advantageous.
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
- Extensive experience and versatility in cooking for a large number of people as relevant to the role.
- Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in cooking techniques and diverse cuisines.
- Strong time management skills are crucial.
- Legal right to work in Ireland and successful completion of Garda Vetting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to lead and work effectively in a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
