The purpose of this role is to provide a multi-disciplined general maintenance service as part of a small team primarily focusing on planned, preventative and reactive maintenance and repair of our housing stock within Cork and some occasional work in Kerry.
What you will do:
- Work within the framework of the overall aims and objectives of Focus Ireland.
- Complete multi-disciplined types of maintenance both inside and outside our properties such as basic electrical checks, plumbing, plastering, carpentry, upkeep of grounds, meter readings, lock changes, clear out of properties and painting.
- Comply with the maintaining and delivery of maintenance schedules.
- Oversee all maintenance activities carried out by external contractors.
- Work effectively as a member of a small team.
- Exercise a good level of initiative and independence on site to resolve issues and ensure safe work practices.
- Undertake other duties as assigned in consultation with the Team Leader.
- Draw up and oversee the implementation of maintenance schedules/fire checks for Communal Areas.
- Have access to their own vehicle for scheduled repairs and maintenance.
- Ensure all tools comply with Health and Safety regulations and are stored safely.
- Engage in supervision sessions with the Team Leader.
- Participate in relevant training and development courses.
- Be vigilant to Health, Safety and Welfare risks and report concerns to your line manager.
What you will need:
- Ability to work on own initiative both alone and as a member of a team.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible and innovative approach.
- Commitment to providing the highest quality service.
- Willingness to travel within Cork City, Cork County, and Kerry.
- On-site safety awareness and knowledge of relevant current legislation and Health and Safety Policy.
- Proven relevant experience in maintenance within the social housing or private residential sector.
