About the Role

A leading organisation is undertaking a major transformation to transition its IT security estate from a group-based structure to an independent, in-house security model. As anEnterprise Security Architect, you will play a pivotal role in assessing the current security landscape, identifying key challenges, and defining a robust security roadmap for the next 12-18 months.

We are looking for a highly skilled security professional with experience leading similar enterprise security transitions. The ideal candidate will be able to operate at both strategic and technical levels, ensuring the organisation builds strong internal security capabilities while effectively collaborating with external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current security estate, identifying risks, vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement.
  • Define and drive the security architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to build and enhance security capabilities.
  • Provide deep technical insight and hands-on leadership in designing and implementing security solutions.
  • Influence and guide senior leadership on security direction and best practices.
  • Oversee security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and security design processes to maintain high standards.
  • Stay up to date with emerging security threats, trends, and technologies to continuously enhance security posture.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as anEnterprise Security Architector in a similar leadership role within a large organisation.
  • Strong background in enterprise security architecture, engineering, and governance.
  • Experience transitioning from a group security model to an independent security structure.
  • Ability to assess security challenges and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Deep technical expertise in cybersecurity principles, technologies, and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, Zero Trust, cloud security, identity and access management, network security).
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with external partners and vendors to build security capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex security concepts into business-friendly language.
  • Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, TOGAF, SABSA) are a plus.
