Physiotherapist

The Physiotherapist will deliver high-quality, family-centred physiotherapy services to children and young people (0–18 years) with complex needs arising from disability. The postholder will work within a Children's Disability Network Team (CDNT) based in South City Dublin, providing physiotherapy as part of an multidisciplinary team. I will accept Staff or Senior Grade Physiotherapists.

Responsibilities of Physiotherapist

  • Conduct detailed assessments and deliver physiotherapy interventions to support children with a variety of developmental, neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, and postural management needs.
  • Work collaboratively with families using a family-centred, rights-based approach, embedding physiotherapy into daily routines and natural environments.
  • Participate in developing and implementing Family-Centred Service Plans (FCSPs) in collaboration with other team members.
  • Provide support across various settings including home, school, clinic, and community locations depending on the needs of the child and family.
  • Deliver individual and group interventions and parent training programmes.
  • Liaise with orthotics, equipment suppliers, and other medical professionals to support the child's physical functioning.
  • Maintain comprehensive clinical documentation in line with HSE and professional standards.
  • Participate in clinical governance, team meetings, audit, and ongoing service development activities.
  • Engage in regular supervision and continuous professional development (CPD) to support safe, effective, and innovative practice.

Requirements of Physiotherapist

  • A recognised qualification in Physiotherapy (approved by CORU).
  • Registration with the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
  • For Senior Grade: A minimum of 3 years post-qualification clinical experience, including relevant experience in paediatrics or disability services.
  • Experience working with children with complex physical and developmental disabilities would be desirable
