Cairn plc. has a unique opportunity for a high-calibre M&E Coordinator. Reporting to the Building Services Manager, you will assist in managing the Mechanical and Electrical services design and installation for residential projects.

Key responsibilities:

Typically, the candidate will undertake and assist with the following duties:

  1. Manage and monitor the installation quality of M&E systems on residential projects, from initial coordination to final commissioning and handover.
  2. Support site construction management teams in coordinating on-site M&E installations and assist with problem-solving when issues arise.
  3. Coordinate with project design teams regarding M&E system interfaces with architectural and structural elements.
  4. Oversee M&E subcontractors onsite, ensuring programme and quality expectations are met.
  5. Liaise with utility providers, local authorities, and design teams to ensure timely delivery of services such as electricity, public lighting, gas, water, and telecommunications to new developments.
  6. Manage modifications to existing site services and facilitate mains service diversions in collaboration with utility providers.
  7. Contribute to the company's innovation and value engineering processes by considering and implementing best-in-class mechanical and electrical systems and products.
  8. Manage temporary electric and water systems.
The candidate – key requirements:
  • Further education in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services.
  • At least 4 years of post-qualification experience in a similar management role.
  • Interest in energy management and emerging trends in residential building services design and construction.
  • Team player, organized, self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Trade background is an advantage but not essential.
  • Focus on deadlines and commitment to programme delivery.
  • Willingness to travel between sites and hold a full driving licence.
