As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dynamic and highly organised Head Receptionist to lead our front-of-house team.
Job Overview:
The Head Receptionist will be the face of the hotel, ensuring a seamless guest experience from check-in to check-out. You will lead a team of six receptionists, oversee the day-to-day operations of the front desk, and liaise with all hotel departments to ensure efficiency and exceptional service. This role requires a confident leader with excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Services & Front Desk Operations:
- Lead by example, delivering outstanding customer service at all times.
- Oversee the reception team, ensuring smooth check-ins, check-outs, and guest interactions.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain a strong presence in the lobby, assisting guests and supporting the team as needed.
- Ensure the front desk is always well-presented, organised, and running efficiently.
- Manage, train, and mentor a team of six receptionists, ensuring high performance and motivation.
- Schedule shifts and ensure adequate front desk coverage at all times.
- Conduct regular team meetings to provide updates, feedback, and training.
- Assist in recruiting and onboarding new reception staff as needed.
- Ensure that all procedures are adhered to across all functions.
- Work closely with housekeeping, maintenance, reservations, and F&B teams to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Communicate guest preferences, special requests, and VIP arrivals to relevant departments.
- Coordinate with accounts for billing queries, payments, and invoicing.
Administration & Systems Management:
- Oversee reservations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in bookings.
- Monitor and update the property management system (PMS) and other front desk software.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
- Generate reports on occupancy, revenue, and guest feedback for management review.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience as a Senior Receptionist, Front Office Manager, or similar role in a hotel setting.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of HotSoft PMS is an advantage but not essential.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to guest service.
- A warm, professional, and welcoming demeanor.
- Knowledge of local attractions and events to assist guests with recommendations.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
