As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dynamic and highly organised Head Receptionist to lead our front-of-house team.

Job Overview:

The Head Receptionist will be the face of the hotel, ensuring a seamless guest experience from check-in to check-out. You will lead a team of six receptionists, oversee the day-to-day operations of the front desk, and liaise with all hotel departments to ensure efficiency and exceptional service. This role requires a confident leader with excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Services & Front Desk Operations:

  1. Lead by example, delivering outstanding customer service at all times.
  2. Oversee the reception team, ensuring smooth check-ins, check-outs, and guest interactions.
  3. Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally and efficiently.
  4. Maintain a strong presence in the lobby, assisting guests and supporting the team as needed.
  5. Ensure the front desk is always well-presented, organised, and running efficiently.
  6. Manage, train, and mentor a team of six receptionists, ensuring high performance and motivation.
  7. Schedule shifts and ensure adequate front desk coverage at all times.
  8. Conduct regular team meetings to provide updates, feedback, and training.
  9. Assist in recruiting and onboarding new reception staff as needed.
  10. Ensure that all procedures are adhered to across all functions.
  11. Work closely with housekeeping, maintenance, reservations, and F&B teams to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  12. Communicate guest preferences, special requests, and VIP arrivals to relevant departments.
  13. Coordinate with accounts for billing queries, payments, and invoicing.

Administration & Systems Management:

  1. Oversee reservations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in bookings.
  2. Monitor and update the property management system (PMS) and other front desk software.
  3. Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
  4. Generate reports on occupancy, revenue, and guest feedback for management review.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Previous experience as a Senior Receptionist, Front Office Manager, or similar role in a hotel setting.
  2. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  5. Knowledge of HotSoft PMS is an advantage but not essential.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to guest service.
  7. A warm, professional, and welcoming demeanor.
  8. Knowledge of local attractions and events to assist guests with recommendations.
  9. Multilingual abilities are a plus.
