    The Senior Occupational Therapist will work in conjunction with the Occupational Therapist Manager in ensuring the coordination, development and delivery of a quality, client-centred Occupational Therapy Service to meet the needs of the service user group and the objectives of the organisation.

    The Senior Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the provision of a high standard Occupational Therapy service in Blackrock Hospice and other designated areas * and will carry out clinical and educational duties as assigned by the Occupational Therapist Manager. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
    • Designated area refers to the Occupational Therapy Departments in the Palliative Care Units in Harold's Cross and Blackrock or any other area as identified under the authority of OLH&CS.

    Essential Requirements

    Qualifications:
    • Be registered on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU or satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91

    Experience:
    • 3+ years post qualification clinical experience with minimum 1 year in Palliative Care

    Other
    • Full clean driving licence

    Desirable Requirements

    Qualifications:
    • Membership of the Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland (AOTI) and /or equivalent Occupational Therapy professional body
    • Membership of a relevant AOTI Advisory Group
    • Postgraduate training / qualifications in Palliative Care

    Experience:
    • Experience in the professional supervision of Staff Grade Occupational Therapists and/or Occupational Therapy Assistants
    • Participation in regular standards setting, outcome measurement, clinical audit and research
