Job Description:

Our client's Insurance audit and assurance team is undergoing a period of significant growth.

Audit reform legislation has required the market to look for increased diversity and choice of firms; and their financial services practice has been a key beneficiary of this. They are now recognised in the market as one of the foremost financial services audit and assurance practices, as demonstrated by the significant number of insurance mandates transitioned to date and upcoming new engagements.

The Position

We wish to appoint an ambitious and diligent Senior Manager to our Insurance Team. Given the growth of the Insurance practice since changes in Audit reform legislation, this position offers excellent advancement opportunities working with high-profile financial institutions. You will work closely with international colleagues on cross-border assignments and build relationships with directors and partners, contributing to the ongoing development of our financial services division. This role requires strong technical, interpersonal, and client relationship skills.

Key Responsibilities

You will manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring high technical standards in a commercially beneficial manner. You will lead a dedicated team, managing, organizing, and deploying staff on assignments. You will also help formulate the strategic direction of the Insurance team both internally and externally.

Other duties include:

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of Insurance clients
  • Assist partners and directors in business development
  • Control financial aspects of client portfolios, including budgeting, billing, and recovery
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the firm
  • Plan and resource staff effectively on assignments
  • Promote the firm's values, demonstrating integrity and ethics
  • Set team goals, monitor performance, and provide feedback
  • Recruit, promote, and develop talent within the team
  • Ensure adherence to risk management policies and procedures
  • Develop collaborative client relationships
  • Contribute to learning and development, including coaching junior staff

Principal Requirements

  • Qualified accountant with insurance audit experience (minimum 3 years PQE)
  • Role model with high standards of quality and commitment to self-development
  • Experience in leading and supervising large audit assignments
  • Technical proficiency in IFRS, FRS 102, and Solvency II
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills
