Virgin Media Television is seeking a Vision Mixer to join our Broadcast Operations team. The successful candidate will work as part of this team, bringing some of Virgin Media Television's flagship programming to air. They must possess a high degree of technical proficiency in vision mixing and have an unrelenting attention to detail and quality.

Specific Duties & Tasks:

  • Operation of vision mixing consoles for live and pre-recorded programming
  • Seamless switching between multiple video sources such as camera, VT's, and incoming external feeds
  • Use of transitions such as wipes and flying keys
  • Creation of mixed effects including picture-in-picture effects, split screens, and chroma keying
  • Responsible for in-program graphic overlay using in-depth knowledge of downstream keying principles
  • Work effectively within a fully multi-disciplined Broadcast Operations team
  • Work as directed during productions
  • Ensure there are no issues with studio sources and incoming feeds

Skills & Expertise:

  • High technical proficiency in a broadcast control room environment
  • Excellent knowledge of broadcast television principles
  • Knowledge of television production processes and emerging technologies
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and plan recovery during unexpected issues
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across content genres and support staff
