We're working with a pioneering medical device innovator at the cutting edge of automated manufacturing and advanced production technologies. As they scale up for major new product launches, they're seeking a Principal Automation Engineer to lead automation strategy, drive continuous improvement, and ensure world-class equipment performance.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the design, development, and integration of automation and control systems (Allen-Bradley / Rockwell platforms)
  • Drive improvements in machine vision, servo/motion control, and robotics across new and existing manufacturing lines
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, NPI, and Validation teams
  • Own technical documentation and support GMP-compliant validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to long-term strategic roadmaps
  • 10+ years' experience in automation/controls engineering, ideally in medical device or regulated manufacturing
  • Expertise with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLCs and HMIs
  • Strong background in motion systems, servo control, or vision integration
  • Proven track record in validation, compliance, and working in FDA/GMP environments
  • Ability to lead projects independently and influence technical direction
