Construction Project Director

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Construction Project Director with an uncompromising commitment to safety and quality to join our Project Delivery and Construction team near Cork, Ireland.

You'll oversee multiple EPCMV project teams' day-to-day execution within the Central region. Your focus will be on supporting EPCMV and CM services sales, overseeing the detailed execution of projects from initiation to close-out, staff development, and operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day execution of multiple EPCMV project teams in the Central region.
• Support EPCMV and CM services sales; oversee the detailed execution of projects from initiation to close-out; develop staff; monitor operational performance.
• Lead construction project teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and on budget. Projects will range from tenant improvements to major manufacturing facilities.
• Guide project delivery teams, establish goals and execution plans, and monitor performance.
• Oversee the development of contracts, subcontracts, estimates, and budgets.
• Regularly review project performance with PMs and resolve project cost, schedule, or quality issues.
• Provide day-to-day direction of all project-specific Project Delivery group operations, including preconstruction, estimating, procurement, project management, construction site management, and construction-site safety.
• Direct the change management process, providing work-in-place analysis with the project services group.

Team leadership and development

• Hire, train, and develop project delivery staff; conduct site visits as needed to monitor construction progress.
• Develop new business, work with senior leadership on proposals and presentations, and help grow our presence in the Central region.
• Act as a secondary point of contact for PMs with clients.
• Collaborate with preconstruction, project controls, procurement, quality, and safety by allocating resources; identify and mitigate project risks in partnership with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent technical degree.
• 15+ years of experience in Project Delivery or a related discipline, including leadership roles.
• Experience managing multi-million-dollar construction projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in other areas of life sciences, including construction of pharmaceutical and biotech facilities.

Safety

• This position requires approximately 25% travel, or as project needs dictate.
• You may be assigned to a client site for an extended period.
• Overnight travel or staying in the client location city is possible depending on assignment.
• You will visit client sites and must adhere to stated safety rules.
• This position is a safety-sensitive position.
• The employee is considered a field contractor supervisor and acts in a supervisory role for field work for IPS employees or subcontractors.
