Location: Newbridge (Hybrid).

The purpose of this role is to secure third party land acquisition to support the successful delivery of renewable energy projects – efficiently, strategically and commercially. The role focuses on identifying, securing and managing third party land acquisition, providing essential land options, wayleaves, easements and leases to meet business objectives. Success will be measured by the timely acquisition of land rights, execution, cost efficiency, risk management and collaboration with other teams to contribute to project success.

Responsibilities
  • Devise, manage and implement landowner negotiation strategies for large-scale development and energy infrastructure projects to ensure timely delivery of all land agreements and land rights required for projects throughout development and construction. Manage complex agreements (options, leases, wayleaves, easements). Manage stakeholder and consultation obligations under NPWS Contract where applicable.
  • Represent the company in negotiating viable and cost-effective land deals that allow renewable energy projects to progress from site selection through to Heads of Terms, enabling the legal team to finalise Option and Lease agreements, easements and wayleaves. Proactively lead negotiations with landowners to secure necessary agreements. Manage third-party independent valuation processes.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with landowners, tenant farmers, land managers or other landowners to keep them informed of developments and progress. Introduce the project to landowners and provide information on the proposed development and the type/scale of infrastructure; capture Heads of Terms and any special conditions to streamline negotiations. Meticulous electronic recording of discussions and issues, seeking resolution as they arise.
  • Liaise with in-house and external lawyers, project managers and external consultants; attend consultations and stakeholder meetings. Stay informed of regulatory changes affecting land strategies. Maintain accurate records of negotiation status and key risks. Ensure engagement and acquisition activities align with BnM governance standards and delegated authority processes.
  • Assist, as required, in joint ventures or co-development agreements in acquiring third-party land to deliver Renewable Energy Portfolios. Develop project plans with Renewable Team to manage engagement with landowners and stakeholders; coordinate title investigations; liaise with legal to progress agreements to execution.
  • Ensure compliance with BnM Health & Safety and Environmental policies and all relevant EU and National policies and statutory requirements. Co-operate with provisions to ensure Health, Safety and Welfare of all employees and the public using premises.
  • Participate in the Performance Management process to deliver own and team objectives.
Qualifications
  • Honors Degree (Level 8 FETAC) in Land Management, Agriculture, Business or equivalent. Minimum 6 years' professional experience in agriculture, forestry, property, project management or related discipline.
  • Familiarity with Irish Property Law and relevant documentation; experience in renewable energy projects and understanding of business needs; knowledge of sustainable land management and strong stakeholder management.
  • Proven track record of negotiating and concluding landowner agreements. Strong understanding of Land Acquisition processes, compensation and valuation principles, and community relations best practice.
  • Self-starter who can also work as part of a wider team. Experience with renewable energy land agreements and project requirements is advantageous.
  • Excellent negotiating, influencing, presentation and communication skills. Resilient under pressure and able to manage sensitive issues diplomatically.
  • Thorough knowledge of land management, and negotiating land transactions; ability to understand new regulations affecting land use.
  • Organised with attention to detail; strong reporting skills; ability to communicate technical information clearly and interpret maps and landforms.
  • Full driving licence and own vehicle required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team; strong time-management and ability to manage multiple projects; strong relationship and reputational management.
  • Self-starter and flexible with availability outside normal hours; proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional communication and conflict resolution, risk management, and handling complex issues.
