Overview

Position: HR Business Partner at STO Building Group. This role supports the growth of the international division and provides consulting and coaching to departmental leaders and managers to align with the business's vision, mission, and objectives. The HR Business Partner covers the full employee lifecycle, including labor relations, performance management, and organizational design.

Reporting to: Managing Director of Structure Tone International
Function/Department: Human Resources

Key Responsibilities
  • Change Agent: drive a culture-forward agenda aligned with management pace; facilitate feedback and process improvements with a focus on lean methodologies; support continuous improvement through learning, training & development; anticipate and address HR-related risks and opportunities; ensure leadership understands their role in achieving organizational goals by communicating strategic direction; act as a liaison to Learning & Leadership Development, Recruiting, and Marketing; act as compensation consultant to senior managers and administer compensation changes.
  • Employee Relations: address labor relations matters, mediate workplace issues, maintain strong relationships with trade professionals; advise leadership on corrective action (progressive discipline) for misconduct or performance issues; partner with HR and Recruiting to meet business needs; provide guidance on division restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Training Oversight: design and implement training programs in coordination with corporate initiatives (e.g., Management Training & Professional Staff Development, IT Skills Training, Support Staff Enhancement); coach and advise management on policies, procedures, compensation, benefits, discipline, and employment laws; lead special projects related to organizational goals; pursue certification in learning systems to deliver targeted training.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 5–10 years of Human Resources experience, preferably within the AEC industry or related professional services.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Communication: excellent written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Integrity: professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Adaptability: ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple projects.
  • Expertise: strong knowledge across HR disciplines including compensation practices, organizational risk analysis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and employment laws.
Compensation & Benefits

Compensation includes base pay plus discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, HSA/FSAs, 401(k) with employer match, life/AD&D, disability, various insurance options, paid time off, holidays, and additional employee programs.
