Mechanical Apprentice

About The Role:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Mechanical Apprentice to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced industrial environment. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification through the SOLAS apprenticeship programme.

· Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment.

· Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

· Support senior technicians in diagnosing mechanical faults and implementing solutions.

· Operate and maintain tools and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.

· Participate in scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.

· Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.

· Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

· Attend off-the-job training phases as required by the apprenticeship programme.

· Minimum of Junior Certificate or equivalent; Leaving Certificate preferred.

· Strong interest in mechanical systems and engineering.

· Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.

· Willingness to learn and complete the SOLAS apprenticeship programme.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.

· Commitment to health and safety practices.

· Previous work experience in a mechanical or industrial setting (e.g., summer job, TY placement).

· Familiarity with hand tools and workshop equipment.
