Misty Croft, a company within the Daffodil Care Group, is hiring a Social Care Worker and Relief Social Care Workers for our residential services for separated children seeking international protection. Our residential centre is based in Wicklow town, Co. Wicklow.

Who We Are

Misty Croft was established to provide high-quality residential and ancillary services to young people seeking international protection. We are committed to working intensively with young people and support networks through a clearly defined model of care, where reflective practice is central to all engagements.

We promote therapeutic child and youth care engagement in a safe environment, with the young person at the centre of all planning, activities, decision-making, interventions, and reviews.

Separated children seeking international protection are under 18, outside their country of origin, and may need international protection. Many of these children have experienced significant trauma and have high levels of vulnerability.

What We Can Offer You
  • Attractive starting salary for full-time Social Care Workers: €44,187 - €47,412 per annum (depending on experience), including sleeping time and premiums.
  • Incremental salary scale.
  • Typical schedule of 2 x 24-hour shifts per week.
Qualifications & Experience

We invite candidates with a variety of social care-related qualifications from Level 7 or Level 8 achieved in Ireland and internationally to apply. Qualifications may include:

  • QQI Level 8 in Psychology
  • QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy
  • QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Counselling / Psychotherapy
  • QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Addiction Counselling
  • QQI Level 7 in Youth and Community or similar
  • QQI Level 7 in Social Science / Social Studies
  • QQI Level 7 in Family Support
  • Professional Qualification in Teaching (excluding TEFL)
  • Professional Qualification in Nursing Studies
  • QQI Level 7 in Disability Studies
  • QQI Level 7 in Applied Behavioural Analysis
  • QQI Level 7 in Early Years Care (for centres catering to children under 12)
  • BA in Applied Policing or equivalent
  • Holder of Higher Certificate in Custodial Care (Irish Prison Service) or equivalent

Alternatively, a QQI Level 6 qualification with a minimum of 2 years' experience working with children and young people in a social care setting is acceptable.

Applicants must have knowledge of child safeguarding, relevant legislation, and national standards for children's residential centres. Good report writing skills and experience working with culturally diverse backgrounds are advantageous.

Mandatory Requirement

A full Irish driving license is mandatory for this role.
