Offer Description

Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Assistant within UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant (RA) to join the eHealth-Hub for Cancer, working specifically on the IPCOR research project. Based at the UCD Clinical Research Centre (CRC) at the Mater Hospital and other associated clinical sites, the RA will support the clinical team in collecting, curating, and managing clinical data critical to advancing research in prostate cancer and digital health.

The All-Island eHealth Hub for Cancer is a €4M Emerging Hub of Excellence, funded by the Shared Island Fund and administered through the Irish Higher Education Authority's North-South Research Programme. The project brings together seven universities, eight hospitals, industry collaborators, and international partners to advance cancer digital health and real-world evidence research. Multidisciplinary teams-including clinicians, software developers, bioinformaticians, statisticians, and epidemiologists-are working to design and implement innovative algorithms and platforms that improve cancer care and outcomes across Ireland.

This Research Assistant post will work with the Irish Prostate Cancer Outcomes Research (IPCOR) project-a Movember Foundation-supported, clinically-led research initiative. IPCOR aims to enhance prostate cancer care and outcomes in Ireland through robust data collection, analysis, and international benchmarking. The project is now entering a new phase, with the launch of a national prostate cancer registry across five sites in 2024.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, supportive, and well-funded team with exposure to national and international cancer research. Full training and mentorship will be provided, with opportunities to engage with PhD students, Postdocs, clinicians, and global experts in cancer research and digital health.

Salary Range: €33,291 - €38,174 Per Annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
