Kitchen Assistant
It started with a tomato. A freshly picked, organic tomato at Ballymaloe cookery school, when Jack tasted its full flavour punch, it sparked the idea for a locally sourced, seasonal healthy food business and the rest is Sprout.
Co-founded in 2013 by brothers Jack and Theo, Sprout has moved from making and selling juices out of Avoca into 7 sites across Dublin and its own farm (with many more planned).
At Sprout, we are all about the growing, whether that be our food, our business, our teams, or ourselves. Our people are integral to the work we do and showing the world that healthy food does not have to be boring or tasteless.
Please note at this time we are only accepting Part-time applications.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be mainly responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen and restaurant equipment, and making sure that our store processes run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
A Kitchen Assistant in Sprout is such an important person that helps with the overall running of our restaurants. As well as helping with the cleanliness of the restaurant and restaurant equipment, you will support our Kitchen team with basic food preparation.
This is a great role for growth and the perfect introduction to the hospitality industry. 85% of team members that have started as Kitchen Assistants have developed into other roles in the company (including General Managers and Kitchen Leads).
You will need to have a keen eye for detail and be organised. Having a good understanding of our restaurants will be key.
The Person:Love for Hospitality: For you, hospitality isn't just a job - it's a passion. You love the energy and the vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant.
Team player: Happy to give a helping hand to your colleagues and understands that more joy comes from giving than getting.
Food Enthusiast: Loves everything about food and gets excited about in-season vegetables.
Curious: You have a curious mind and are always eager to learn more. Asking questions and enjoying learning, you don't believe to know it all.
Innovative spirit: You want to be a part of a company that is looking to always change and improve.
The Role:
Hygiene Hero: You champion cleanliness in the kitchen. Your commitment to hygiene ensures that all areas are spotless, and all equipment is properly sanitised, creating a safe environment for both the team and customers.
Versatile Team Player: You'll dive into a mixture of tasks to help get the restaurant ready for the day, from cleaning equipment to helping the Kitchen team prep our fresh food and organising our service line to tidying up.
Service standard: You'll know our cleaning checklists like the back of your hand and ensure everything is clean and safely put away.
Process Perfection: A knowledge of food preparation procedures in the kitchen. Adhere to our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring that all processes are efficient and effective. Your commitment to perfection helps maintain high operational standards in the restaurant.
Food Safety and Compliance: You ensure all food safety protocols are strictly followed. You are vigilant about food safety compliance, making sure that everything we produce meets the highest safety standards.
Allergen Alert: You play a big part in allergen safety, having a good understanding of allergens in the workplace and ensuring that food is safely prepared for all customers, including those with allergies.
Health and Safety: You'll help your General Manager champion Health and Safety in the restaurant.
All hands-on deck: No matter your role, you're ready to jump in when it matters most and support the line at our busiest times.
The Perks:
Free food/coffee while working + 50% discount when you're off Team parties, rewards incentives, internal development and growth opportunities, wellness support, work/life balance, Cycle to Work Scheme.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: €13.50 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Weekend availability
