How You Will Create An Impact

As a Data Architect, you will drive the development of AIG's data architecture and ontology frameworks, ensuring that our data systems are robust, scalable, and future-proof. You will shape how data is modeled, integrated, and governed across the organization, helping business applications deliver faster with higher quality and compliance. You will create reusable enterprise information assets and collaborate closely with solution architects, product owners, and engineering teams to deliver high-impact business outcomes. This role is pivotal in ensuring data architecture supports innovation, compliance, and improved business performance.

Your Responsibilities Include

• Design scalable data architectures aligned with AIG's data strategy and business goals; assist in integrating enterprise information assets, services, and business systems to ensure efficient data usage and governance.
• Document and continuously evaluate the data architecture of information systems; provide recommendations to enhance data governance standards and best practices, and educate teams accordingly.
• Contribute to the creation and management of data models and ontologies for large-scale business applications across multiple geographies.
• Collaborate with Product Teams, Engineering Teams, Data Governance teams, and others to ensure data architecture supports business objectives while maintaining data quality, security, and privacy compliance across applications.
• Monitor market and industry trends in data architecture and apply them to enhance information lifecycle management and data integration processes.

What Is Needed To Be Successful

• Data Architecture, Data Engineering, and/or Business Intelligence experience with several years in designing, building, and managing enterprise data systems.
• Experience across data domains including data analysis, reporting, and the conceptualization and design of data assets for data warehouses and data marts.
• Experience with data modeling concepts, especially relational and dimensional modeling; knowledge of Data Vault modeling is a plus.
• Knowledge of Data Management and Data Architecture best practices regarding SDLC, governance, security, and privacy.
• Experience with Reference & Master Data Management systems.
• Experience designing or building cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience in designing data solutions using modern platforms such as Snowflake.
• Strong SQL expertise with development, optimization, and performance tuning for large-scale data environments; working knowledge of Python is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Apache Iceberg is an asset.
• Experience with Palantir Foundry is advantageous; knowledge of ontology concepts is a plus.
