Marsh & McLennan - Full Stack Engineer - Dublin - Permanent - HYBRID - 2 days office based

We are seeking a number of Full Stack Engineers to join Marsh & McLennan via the Robert Walters consultancy on a permanent basis in Dublin to help with the build out of a new document and email extraction capability using a variety of skills such as MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, node.js.

Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. (MMC) is the world's leading professional services firm in the areas of Risk,Strategy and People. MMC is undertaking a major transformational initiative that will disrupt how essential financial services are delivered to consumers worldwide. The Document Ingestion programme will deliver reusable components for the MMC group of business to support document processing workflows with AI capabilities.

We are now building the Engineering Team in Dublin to establish the architectural & engineering standards, best practices, and processes that will guide the scaled development of the platform and are seeking a hands-on, delivery oriented, Full Stack Engineer for our Product Engineering Team based in the MMC Innovation Centre in Dublin city centre.

Engaged in the development and implementation of this exciting new green field strategic technology platform. You will provide hands-on technical leadership for the team across the full stack, leading by example you will set the standard within the for robust design, and timely delivery of quality, working and tested code.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidates to play a key role this critical technology initiative, working with engineers around the world to deliver a large-scale platform that will transform our business.

What technical skills do we require:

• React, and Node.js
• Experience in cloud across any of AWS / GCP / Azure
• Exposure to Apigee as an API Gateway

What would be nice for you to have experience of any of the follow:

• Any experience of MongoDB and Express.js
• Event-driven, asynchronous and reactive programming patterns.
• Secure coding practices and secure API development practices.
• Python
• Microservices design and best practices.
• Unidirectional data flow patterns (Redux, etc.).
• RxJS or other Reactive programming techniques/libraries.
• Github, along with best practices around branching strategies.
• Knowledge of AI - OpenAI, ChatGPT 4.0, Gemini, Claude

What you need to have:

• Experience with a proven track record of successfully delivering global and highly scalable customer-facing digital products and capabilities.
• Ability to design systems across the full stack
• Deep knowledge of design patterns, tools and techniques required for delivering highly performance and secure UI applications.
• Strong React + Tailwind / Next.js or equivalent framework experience.
• Experience with data integration and working with JSON and RESTful APIs.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills and instincts.
• Knowledge of good automated testing strategies and best practices.
• Working knowledge of management/tracking utilities such as JIRA/Confluence.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.

• Ability to mentor and coach junior members of the team.

*Please note that this role will be working in the office 2 days per week 3 days WFH*
