Overview

Our client is a world-renowned leader in the area of medical devices and is expanding the Irish team. IT Search has been engaged to speak to a Senior Staff/Principal Engineer to help design and execute highly scalable and secure systems, working closely with counterparts in the USA.

This role suits a very senior Engineer comfortable working across teams, leading delivery of architectures and possessing significant AWS and Serverless Computing knowledge, who is seeking a new challenge and a key role for the years to come.

This is a senior position requiring occasional liaison outside of local working hours (with the USA) and onsite visits to Dublin South on a weekly basis (likely two/three days initially).

Role Responsibilities
  • Liaise closely with international colleagues to adapt, architect and deliver Serverless solutions
  • Understand impact of processes across various departments, DevOps, Development, Product and Senior Management
  • Communicate ongoing objectives to board level, working within and shaping globally distributed architectural strategies
  • Take responsibility for teams of engineers, mentoring and guiding to bring teams on this journey
Requirements
  • 10/15 years of post-graduate commercial experience, the majority of which should be within Development/DevOps/Architecture
  • Significant strength and experience of leading AWS related strategy
  • Serverless experience is essential, with cloud-native environments being your natural home; Microservices and Lambda, NoSQL and related experience a plus
  • Track record of leadership of technical teams, defining expectations and architecture within a large organisation while remaining hands on
  • Development ability is key on an ongoing basis, ideally with Python
  • Observability, pipeline knowledge, IaC are expected for this role
  • Exceptional communication skills and passion for your work
