Job Location – Dundalk Co. Louth

Salary – €35K - £50K

About the Company:

Our client, based in Dundalk, are on the lookout for an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join their team and assist will all aspects of commercial projects, including pricing from complex Bills of Materials, ordering materials, preparing manufacturing schedules, and invoicing.

Attention to detail is very important in this role which can be quite technical, so the applicant should be familiar with working with complex detailed drawings and schedules.

The Role:

  • Manage the tender from receipt, through to submission and post tender queries.
  • Analysing plans/ bill of quantities and other project documentation to estimate costs
  • Researching, sourcing and negotiating best quotes from subcontractors /suppliers.
  • Assessing financial /technical/operational risks of project
  • Liaising with key members of the project team and liaising with clients and subcontractors
  • Prepare take offs and undertake estimates and final account settlements.
  • Review supply chain performance quarterly
  • Mark up enquiries to be sent out to the supply chain, organise bills of quantities production and obtain material quotes where necessary
  • Evaluate returned quotations from supply chain and liaise with supply chain member to bring quotations in line with the project specification requirements
  • Liaise with and manage the internal and external tender team
  • Prepare cost plans, feasibility studies and liaise with Clients

What you need

  • 2+ years' experience in estimating for construction contractor.
  • Motivated, driven and works well within team.
  • Strong contract management ability and understanding.
  • Strong negotiation skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office/Excel.
  • Ability to work on your own and within a team environment.
