Instrumentation/Calibration Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation/Calibration Engineer to join our team at Lead Group. This is a hands-on role based in a leading biopharmaceutical facility in Limerick, where you will be responsible for the calibration, maintenance, and compliance of critical instrumentation and control systems supporting GMP pharmaceutical production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Calibrate and maintain production instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow, pH, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and EU regulatory standards
  • Manage calibration schedules, procedures, and records using CMMS or similar systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation issues to support continuous production
  • Support qualification/validation during commissioning and change control
  • Liaise with QA, maintenance, production, and vendors to coordinate calibration activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and audit readiness
Requirements:
  • Relevant degree or trade qualification in Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics
  • 10+ years of industry experience, ideally in a regulated pharma or biopharma environment
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems (e.g., bioreactors, CIP/SIP, chromatography skids)
  • Experience with calibration standards, documentation, and audit compliance
  • Proficiency with CMMS and calibration software
  • Deep understanding of GMP and regulatory frameworks (FDA/EMA)
