Nua Healthcare Services wants you to work as part of our talented multidisciplinary team. This new and exciting specialist mental health inpatient service will provide care and treatment for adults aged between 18 and 65 who suffer from a mental disorder.

Responsibilities:

  • Live our Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Co-operate with your employer and comply with your responsibilities under the Health Act 2007, The Mental Health Act 2001, and Mental Health Amendment Act 2018, the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, and all associated standards, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Ensure PP's and or ICP's are up to date and that services are delivered to the highest possible quality and safety standards.
  • Familiarize and adhere to the local safety statement (risk assessments and standard operating procedures).
  • Familiarize and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Use company IT systems as instructed and maintain confidentiality as defined under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
  • Report any concerns for the safety of our service users and residents to your line manager or other manager within Nua.
  • Act responsibly and cooperate with our regulators in the best interests of our service and the people who use them.
  • Maintain the highest level of infection control standards as directed by company policy and national best practice guidance.

Job Objectives:

  • Safe management and administration of medications.
  • Utilize nursing skills to support the delivery of effective front-line support to all service users.
  • Support the development and implementation of health assessments, medication plans, and all supporting documents.
  • Ensure that all health action plans are delivered appropriately to all service users.
  • Promote good relationships with primary health care services in each individual's community.
  • Communicate and liaise with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Identify supports and work in partnership with the individual, their family, and other supports.
  • Support service users with health appointments and follow through on recommendations.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to service users.
  • Promote and nurture person-centred planning using key worker systems and shared goal setting.
  • Support the development and implementation of relevant documents outlining supports for individuals.
  • Support and promote maximum opportunities for community involvement for people who use the service.
  • Assist DON in compiling and presenting reports as required.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to staff and service users.

Skills Required:

  • Be registered on the Psychiatric Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Excellent knowledge of all aspects of medication management.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • An understanding of the needs of individuals.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.
  • Experience in a supportive role.
  • Willingness to learn and be reliable.
  • Good organization and IT skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to plan time effectively.
  • Full clean driving licence is an advantage.
