Essential criteria
  • A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential
  • Eligible to register with CORU as a Social Care Worker
  • At least one year's recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs
  • Availability to work shifts on a rota basis including evenings and weekends and waking night duty shifts
  • Full drivers licence (manual) essential
  • Permission to work in Ireland essential

Qualifications
  • A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential (or relevant schedule 3 qualification as listed on CORU) with at least 6 months recent experience; OR
  • A relevant 3rd level qualification at degree level (e.g., Social Work/Psychology) with at least 2 years recent experience; AND
  • Proof of successful registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker OR proof of application in progress with CORU
Skills and abilities
  • Proven knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care Sector
  • Understanding of the needs and rights of individuals with autism
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Experience in implementing and developing support/care plans and PCPs
  • Places the needs of the person supported as the key focus in all activities
  • Delivers support according to the person's PCP and care plan
  • Fluent English and excellent communication skills
  • Full, clean drivers licence (manual) essential
