The person should be a member of the construction group within the delivery directorate, working as part of a team to deliver logistics, traffic management, constructability, and construction planning solutions across the project.

You'll be responsible for:

  1. Leading logistics solutions including proposals for vehicle management systems, standards for access to sites, consolidated logistics facilities, spoil deposition and site/workforce accommodation.
  2. Leading the overall logistics management process for the project, assuming responsibility for the development of a logistics strategy which shall cover the entire project lifecycle.
  3. Coordinating with the project and programme management lead in establishing the development and delivery function, providing support in cross-functional integration.
  4. Supporting in the procurement of the core contracts by producing the logistics requirements to be included within the procurement and contract documents and responding to any logistics-related clarifications raised during the tender stage.
  5. Supporting the evaluation of tender responses in relation to logistics requirements.
  6. Sharing, communicating, and collaborating with the project delivery partner, core contractors, and other relevant stakeholders in the implementation of the logistics strategy.
  7. Managing and updating the project logistics strategy as necessary throughout the delivery of the project.

You'll need to have:

  1. Tangible experience of driving best practice in technical activities, processes, policies, and standards.
  2. In-depth understanding of the design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the architectural/engineering/construction sectors.
  3. Experience dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing the improvement of process and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting.
  4. Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems is desirable, preferably within the construction sector.
  5. Ability to manage technical outputs to drive efficiency.
  6. Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high-quality service.

You'll also have:

  1. BA/BSc (architecture, engineering, construction management, or related discipline).
  2. MSc/MA (engineering, architecture or related discipline).
  3. Six Sigma
  4. Relevant Qualifications in supply chain and logistics.
