TM Receiver at Tractor Supply Company is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy to keep shortages at or below store goals and to maximize store sales by receiving and shipping freight in a timely manner. The TM Receiver also interacts with customers and Team Members, supports selling initiatives, and performs assigned tasks while delivering a Legendary Customer Experience. The role promotes a safe and productive work environment for all Team Members, customers, and vendors, and adheres to Tractor Supply Company safety training and guidelines.
Responsibilities- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed by business needs.
- Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA:
- Greet the Customer.
- Uncover Customer's Needs & Wants.
- Recommend Product Solutions.
- Ask to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer.
- Perform a combination of duties during the day, including but not limited to:
- Processing inbound and outbound freight.
- Maintaining accurate inventory control and adhering to loss prevention standards.
- Recovering merchandise; participating in mandatory freight process.
- Maintaining, recovering, stocking, and tagging assigned work areas, including merchandise displayed outside of the store.
- Operating cash register/computer following cash handling procedures.
- Ensuring the customer has a Legendary shopping experience that differentiates from the competition.
- Rotating and disposing of dated products.
- Assembling merchandise.
- Operating forklift.
- Operating Cardboard Baler.
- Ensuring the safety and well‑being of birds; sanitizing and maintaining poultry holding tanks and caring for birds as required.
- Completing all documentation associated with the above duties.
- Obtaining licenses or certifications as needed by the business.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience: Shipping/receiving experience preferred but not required. Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver's license.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required. Regardless of education level, you must be able to read, write, and count accurately.
- Basic computer skills/experience.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
- Working environment is generally inside with moderate noise.
- Shifts vary by store, but generally are no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours.
- Indoor floors and outdoor lots are hard surfaces; lighting and temperature are adequate.
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Promote a safe and productive work environment for Team Members and customers and adhere to Company safety training and guidelines.
- This position is non-sedentary.
- Must have the physical and mental stamina to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely.
- Ability to operate and use equipment such as forklift, dolly, handtruck, baler, computer, and cash register (forklift and baler requirements do not apply if under 18).
- Ability to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with the assistance of proper material handling equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift or reach merchandise overhead; move and transfer merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders; move throughout the store for an entire shift.
- Ability to access all areas of the store including selling floor, side lot, stock area, and register area.
- Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete all documentation; ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers.
- Ability to process information through the point-of-sale system.
- Ability to handle birds/poultry.
- Ability to complete propane training and certification to dispense propane (propane certification and dispensing requirement does not apply if under 18).
- Ability to travel as required in support of district needs.
- Ability to complete all required training and certification.
