Embrace provides residential support services for adults and children with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and acquired brain injuries. We currently have a new opportunity for a COMMUNITY NURSE who has a passion for supporting adults and children in the community.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide nursing care to a high standard which meets the practical, physical and emotional needs of our residents with an intellectual disability, acquired brain injury or autism. In doing so, you will assist the residents in achieving their highest levels of functioning in order to maintain independence or to improve skills that will encourage them to be more independent.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to meet the practical, physical and emotional needs of residents with intellectual disability, acquired brain injury or autism.
- Assist residents in achieving their highest levels of functioning to maintain independence or improve skills to become more independent.
- Must be registered in the Intellectual Disability / Mental Health Division and/or General Division of the Live Register of Nurses maintained by NMBI (Nursing Midwifery Board of Ireland)
- Have 3+ years experience working in a residential, respite or day service setting with people with an intellectual disability to carry out the full range of duties, functions, responsibilities and activities required by the role
- Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role
- A kind and compassionate personality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships
- Proven capability of working on your own initiative with a high level of attention to detail
- Good time management skills
- Knowledge of Irish healthcare and HIQA standards
- Fluent English
- Full driving licence and access to a car – travel is a necessary requirement of the role
- Eligibility to work in Ireland
