Role Overview
This is a broad and dynamic role where you will gain experience across compliance, risk, legal, and IT security. As Kota is a small and fast-growing company, you will be involved in a variety of areas and projects, contributing directly to the company's success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee compliance frameworks related to insurance distribution, data protection, and financial crime prevention.
  • Monitor regulatory developments from the CBI, FCA, and other EEA regulators, ensuring timely implementation of new requirements.
  • Implement and maintain risk and compliance policies, aligning them with industry best practices.
  • Conduct internal compliance audits, risk assessments, and monitoring programs.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training for employees, fostering a strong culture of regulatory awareness.
  • Ensure effective AML/CFT policies and procedures are embedded across the organisation.
  • Manage the Fitness and Probity process to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including go-to-market, product, engineering, and technology, to integrate compliance into business operations.
  • Support the Head of Risk and Compliance in managing regulatory relationships and reporting obligations.
  • Assist with internal management and Board reporting.
  • Provide compliance support for new product launches and business initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, And Experience
  • 3+ years experience in compliance, risk, or legal roles within the insurance, insurtech, or financial services sector.
  • Background in a fast-paced, start-up, or scale-up environment is advantageous.
  • Relevant qualifications in compliance, risk management, or financial regulation (e.g., LCOI, ICA, ACAMS, or similar).
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Strong prioritisation and organisational skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them effectively to business operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with regulators and internal stakeholders.
