Where will you be working?

At M Group Energy, we're enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.

This role will be within our Metering team. You'll join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, providing efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters. Our meter readers install, maintain and manage meters to ensure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored.

What will you be doing?

As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll visit various properties throughout the day, working on Smart Meters in both homes and businesses. You'll use a handheld device to complete your tasks, and update all details on your tablet, keeping records for new and existing customers up to date. No previous technical qualifications are required as there's no live electric work involved

Here's what you'll do: reconnect Gas and Electric Smart Meters, change SIM cards, modems, and small gain aerials, re-join smart devices to the network, exchange batteries on gas meters, and complete site surveys and support tasks that require visiting properties.

What you'll bring

• You will be located in Warrington or Liverpool.
• Good geographical knowledge of your local and surrounding areas.
• Quick learner, eager to grasp new tasks and opportunities.
• Ability to use hand tools effectively, experience with handheld tools is important.
• Ability to lift, carry, and climb ladders safely.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
• Dedicated to excellent customer service.

If you have experience in meter reading, especially with smart meters, or some electrical knowledge or qualification, that's a plus but not required.
