Overview

Embrace are recruiting a Social Care Worker for our adult's residential house in Bray, Co. Wicklow. We are seeking applications from Social Care Workers who have a passion for supporting people in the community and helping them to develop within their homes. The successful candidate will be joining a strong team and will be overseen by a supportive management team.

Our ambition is to offer a strengths-based service that focuses on residents' core interests and encourages their development of new skills. Underpinning all of this is an understanding that we are offering a home for people, and an assurance from us that these homes offer a range of home comforts, and on-site amenities and enable local engagement with community initiatives and organizations.

Responsibilities
  • The primary purpose of this position is to work as part of a team to support residents to live fulfilled and wholesome lives, enabling them to learn new skills and live happily and as independently as possible in their home.
  • Provide residents with guidance, support, training, and activities to help them to achieve their goals.
  • Work as part of the wider support team and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues.
Essential Requirements
  • Holding or pursuing a Level 7 qualification in Social Care / Applied Social Studies (must be registered or eligible for registration with CORU) OR
  • Holding a Nursing Degree (must be registered in the relevant Division of the Live Register of Nurses maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI))
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the legislation, regulations, and standards applicable to the provision of accommodation-based services to vulnerable people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full driving licence (driving will be part of your role)
Specific Requirements
  • Must be energetic and enjoy the outdoors (walking, hiking, etc.)
  • Must have previous experience of supporting individuals with autism
  • Must have a postivie, solution-focused outlook
