Cubic is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Senior Software Test Automation Engineer, who is committed to their work, and capable of working in a fast paced, dynamic environment to join the Test System Team withing the DevOps and Quality Assurance group.
This team is responsible for providing test automation solutions, to support the Cubic engineering teams by building and maintaining test automation frameworks and tooling. The successful candidate is expected to bring an open, collaborative and innovative approach to their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving best-in-class test automation principles within the engineering group working as a Senior Subject Matter expert.
- Working closely with Engineering Managers and architecture to align and implement best practices.
- Expanding and maintaining test automation frameworks for Cubic Telecom
- Implement AI in our automation strategies
- Supporting test automation engineers in:
- Creating and maintaining automated test suites including mocking frameworks and integrating with and contributing to proprietary testing platforms developed in-house.
- Conducting thorough investigation of automation test failures and troubleshooting the outcomes.
- Coordinating implementation of necessary tools / environments for test automation engineers, within the established Technology Radar maintained by the Architecture Team.
- Integrating with and expanding on Engineering Quality Dashboards to provide standardised test automation visibility and insights across the engineering group.
- Help develop and implement training plan to skill-up other engineers in Automation.
- Mentor and support other Test Automation Engineers
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, computer/electronic engineering, or related science discipline.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in a test automation role.
- A self-starter with a proven ability to work independently, managing their own time and workload effectively.
- Able to understand and communicate thoughts, ideas and design specifications in an unambiguous manner. Is able to effectively communicate with leads and members of cross functional teams.
- Comfortable presenting in front of small groups of individual contributors and leadership.
- API/Microservice test automation experience.
- Web application test automation experience.
- Experience working with test automation tools such as /RestSharp/RestAssured/Soap UI/Selenium Webdriver/Load Runner/Jmeter.
- Experience working with programming/scripting languages including .Net/C#/C++/python
- Experience working in a continuous testing environment and using Continuous Integration tools.
- Experience with functional and non-functional test automation.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of all phases of testing and standard test automation techniques.
- Strong communications and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail
Desirable Skills
- Ability to act as a mentoring resource for colleagues with less experience.
- Experience using AI with Test Automation
- Experience using Test Management software. (E.g. TestRail)
- Experience using Atlassian tools, e.g., Confluence, Jira
- Telecoms/IP Networking experience.
- Experience testing IoT/M2M applications or systems.
- Experience working with API and web application mocking tools.
- Experience working with Cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS etc).
- Experience configuring TLS/SSL on server infrastructure.
- Experience working in a lean engineering model, using Kanban.
- Mobile Device testing experience.
- Working in an Agile development environment.
- ISTQB Certification.
- Angular Frameworks Testing
- Performance Engineering Experience
- Experience with UI Automation frameworks
