Job Title: PLC Automation Engineer

Location: North Dublin, Ireland

Job Summary:

We are seeking a PLC Automation Engineer to support the delivery of the automation system for a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) project at a leading biopharmaceutical facility in North Dublin. The successful candidate will work closely with the Automation team, vendors, and partners to ensure the seamless integration of new systems and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Automation teams, vendors, and project partners to deliver automation systems on time and within budget
  • Develop and review Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) deliverables, including:
    • Requirements Specifications
    • Functional & Design Specifications
    • Test Scripts (FAT/SAT)
    • Qualification & Handover Documentation
  • Ensure integration of new automation equipment with site systems, including BMS and MES
  • Support hardware/software testing, commissioning, and qualification
  • Ensure compliance with GxP, cGMP, and site automation standards
  • Participate in risk assessments, troubleshooting, and change control execution
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience with automation systems in pharmaceutical or biopharma industries
  • Strong expertise in Siemens PLC V7, BMS, and MES systems
  • Previous experience with WWTP automation preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of SDLC, GxP, and Computer System Validation (CSV)
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical electronic document management systems (e.g., GxKneat)
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Additional Information:

  • Hybrid Work Model: 3 days onsite during design, moving to 5 days during commissioning
  • Contract Duration: 12 months with extensions
  • Industry: Biopharma manufacturing
