Overview

Join to apply for the Charge Nurse role at NHS Ayrshire & Arran. Hay Lodge Community Hospital is a nurse-led unit providing a 24-hour inpatient service predominately for older people. We offer rehabilitation, palliative and end of life care for people in the local community.

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable person who would like to be part of a friendly and supportive team with an ethos of continuous improvement. The post holder must be a confident decision maker, able to work without direct supervision and supervise registered and unregistered staff, as well as student nurses. There is an expectation that you will possess the leadership skills required to motivate and inspire the nursing team to continuously deliver high-quality person-centred care, and you will also lead by example.

Responsibilities

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for working with other health professionals within the team, patients and families to lead on and coordinate complex discharges. This is a supportive role to the Senior Charge Nurse position, assisting in ensuring the safe and effective running of the ward on a day-to-day basis.

Requirements and Qualifications

The role requires full UK NMC registration and flexibility to work day or night shifts on the ward to meet the needs of a 24/7 service.
