The Investments business is one of the key drivers of revenues and profitability at AIG. Our Investments professionals are responsible for investing the insurance premiums and deposits we collect to generate net investment income that is available to pay claims or benefits and provide returns to shareholders. AIG Investments provides advisory and asset management solutions to AIG, its business units and third-party clients, globally, maintaining investment platforms across multiple asset classes.

About the role - DQA & Alternative Investments AnalystWhat you need to know:

Reporting directly to the Head of AIG Investment Operations, the main responsibility of the DQA & Alternative Investments analyst is to build and maintain a robust DQA framework, overseeing the data integrity group in Blackrock, in addition to supporting cash management and operations for alternative investment book. The successful candidate will have experience of DQA in an investments organisation, implementing a corresponding governance framework, and maintaining this through QC controls and other established procedures. The role will also require one to develop and maintain relationships with all stakeholders including CIOs, BlackRock, technology, compliance, local offices and control partners.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support build of robust DQA framework for oversight of investment data quality matters in Aladdin environment including security master data, reference data, corporate action data and related elements.
  • Maintenance of control and governance framework to support DQA and QC oversight of investment data.
  • Identify and escalate QC queries identified through proactive engagement with the Aladdin environment and support of other internally sourced challenges or queries.
  • Conduct oversight of multiple asset classes e.g. Alternative Investments, Private Equity, Commercial Mortgage Loans & Global Real Estate which have been outsourced to a third-party Service Provider or managed in house by relevant function. This will include daily review of control processes, transactions flows and reconciliations.
  • Periodic review of KRI and KPI metrics as well as detailed NAV/AUM analysis in accordance with strict oversight guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams and Outsourced Service provider to manage investment cash flows to and from Client accounts in a timely manner.
  • Act as a single point of contact for all internal stakeholders in respect data quality, data governance and quality control in the Aladdin environment.
  • Responsible for the timely & accurate distribution of monthly reporting as required by internal / external stakeholders.
  • Continually review processes to identify areas for increased efficiency and risk reduction.
  • Support team manager as required, including cross training and ad hoc projects.
What we're looking for:
  • Several years' experience working in an investments or asset management environment, ideally with a focus on data governance, alternative investments, and investment operations.
  • An excellent knowledge of both front and back-office processes within an investments business, gained by working closely with a variety of different desks on a wide range of initiatives.
  • A strong and demonstrable understanding of data governance, quality control, alternative investments, private credit products, fixed income, support of investment operations, cash flow management, and corporate governance structures required within an investment manager.
  • Willing to take initiative to problem solve and work at own initiative.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to build relationships and credibility with individuals of all levels combined with ability to delegate as appropriate.
  • Strong working knowledge of business intelligence tools including PowerBi, SQL, Microsoft Office Skills.
  • Degree in business, finance, or a related discipline desirable.
