Position Summary

The role of the Transport Control Tower Specialist is to manage, analyse, report and audit the Transport spend, trends and performance for Teleflex. This role will ensure shipments for all transport modes (Air, Ocean, Road, Parcel, Inter-modal) are recorded, with accurate spend, volumetric data and itinerary dates assigned to the correct financial coding per Teleflex financial rules. This role is also responsible for recording and match/pay of Freight invoices, with thorough capture of additional fees and recording and invoice disputes by reason code, communicating with Freight Supplier and Transport Manager where appropriate. The Control Tower specialist is required to interpret transport data, measuring key performance indicators and report analytics, that measure region, carrier, mode & lane trends with results communicated to the broader Global Transport team.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Process and inspect Transport shipments for all modes from all origin/destinations within the scope of the Transport Control Tower.
  • Measure and address Transport exceptions of planned itinerary to actual events, highlighting delays/exceptions to the Carrier and/or relevant Transport Manager.
  • Process deliveries & shipments into Teleflex's TMS system ensuring accurate transport cost estimation.
  • Register/integrate Freight Invoices into Teleflex's TMS system, applying & matching costs to shipments.
  • Audit freight invoices according to Control Tower guidelines & rules to detect charge discrepancies.
  • Register invoice discrepancies together with reason code and reason descriptions.
  • Register documents and supporting material into the Transport Management System for documentation retention purposes and issue resolution.
  • Attend Control Tower weekly dispute's call together with Regional Transportation Managers to collectively address any aging of disputes and gain approvals for excel costs.
  • Attend daily Control Tower team virtual video calls & Teleflex Athlone on-site meeting.
Education / Experience Requirements
  • Knowledge in Supply Chain is required.
  • Global Transport knowledge preferred.
  • Very competent on Windows, MS Excel, MS word.
