The organisation is a niche, well established, growing enterprise involved in the design, manufacture and supply of automated testing instruments for the packaging industry. Recently merged with a significantly larger company with complimentary testing instruments, the overall business now has sales & manufacturing presence in Europe, USA & Asia.

Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. This individual will be part of the R&D and engineering department and work closely with Production to design automated solutions employing electrical and pneumatic components for our testing instruments. Responsibilities will include producing detailed models, assembly and production drawings for new and existing products.

Responsibilities

  • Provide / Develop Fabrication and Assembly drawings.
  • Maintain Updated Fabrication and Assembly Prints.
  • Continuous Design Improvement.
  • Product assembly and test.
  • Product Revision Control.
  • New Product Design/Development.
  • Technical Documentation Content.
  • Maintain/Update PDM/CAD Library.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Expert in Solidworks creating parts, assemblies, design tables and drawings (2D and 3D).
  • Prefer 5+ years' experience with advanced Solidworks and manufacturing.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD creating 2D drawings.
  • Mechanical background, preferably in automation components such as cylinders, linear drives, motors etc.
  • Experienced in sheet metal design.
  • Detail oriented, organized with the ability to handle multiple ongoing projects.
  • Ability to communicate with sales, engineers, and outside customers.
  • Familiar with engineering process, revisions control, change orders, etc.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
