Financial Accountant (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Location: Ireland

Contract Type: 12-Month FTC

A well-established and expanding organisation with multi-site operations is seeking a qualified accountant to join its finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role with scope to contribute to both day-to-day finance operations and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of year-end accounts, ensuring all financial reporting is accurate and audit-ready.
Partner with senior leadership on financial planning, forecasting, and analysis.
Produce monthly management accounts and deliver variance reports across multiple business units.
Manage general ledger activity including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
Support budget creation, tracking, and cash flow management.
Maintain compliance with internal financial controls and relevant statutory obligations.
Oversee the submission of tax filings, including VAT and payroll-related returns.
Supervise a small finance team, ensuring timely and accurate ledger management.
Prepare and deliver weekly performance reports for management insight.

Requirements

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA – essential).
Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in a similar finance role.
Proven ability to lead audit preparation and manage year-end reporting.
Strong proficiency in Excel; experience with Sage or comparable systems preferred.
Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, with strong time management and leadership qualities.
