Mechanical & Electrical Site Supervisor - Galway

Cairn has a unique and exciting opportunity for a M&E Site Supervisor to work with and support Cairn's Construction Team. Reporting to the Building Services Manager, you will assist in managing the Mechanical and Electrical services design and installation on high-density residential projects.

The successful candidate will be an experienced, motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and follow up on the quality of M&E system installations across residential projects during various build stages.
  2. Implement and develop M&E quality systems, including online management portals.
  3. Supervise M&E sub-contractors onsite, ensuring quality and adherence to schedule.
  4. Support construction management teams in on-site M&E installations and troubleshoot issues.
  5. Coordinate with project design teams as needed.
  6. Inspect and record sub-contractor quality documentation and conduct quality audits.
  7. Contribute to innovation in mechanical & electrical systems and installation processes.
  8. Assist internal after-care with troubleshooting and escalate issues when necessary.
  9. Manage modifications of existing site services and coordinate mains service diversions with utility providers.
  10. Support site teams in coordinating utility services with local authorities.

Key requirements for candidates:

  • Background in M&E with relevant certification preferred.
  • Post-qualification experience of 5+ years in a similar role.
  • Desire to improve installation quality and procedures.
  • Experience with project management software platforms.
  • Organized, self-motivated team player with initiative.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and focus on programme delivery.
  • Willingness to travel between sites and hold a full driving license.
