Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Electrical Commissioning Engineer, who will be responsible for overseeing the development of test scripts and the testing of complex electrical infrastructure products and systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide engineering and technical support for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and performing commissioning of the entire lifecycle of critical facilities.
  2. Participate in the MEP design process.
  3. Witness static and dynamic testing of complex mechanical, electrical, and control systems, and operate the system in normal, maintenance, and failure modes.
  4. Perform the test procedure.
  5. Create minutes of meetings.
  6. Work with basic test equipment such as power quality analyzers and oscilloscopes.
  7. Interact with contractors to interpret design and specifications.
  8. Knowledge of engineering principles and strong understanding of machinery.
  9. Ability to write functional performance test scripting and integrated system test procedures.
  10. Conduct on-site observation surveys, create field reports on project status, and project completion regarding compliance with plans and specifications.
  11. Create a punch list report to determine corrective actions for field problems.
  12. Familiarize with technical standards, local project regulations, and construction practices.
  13. Understand and follow safety requirements of all projects, including specific site regulations.
  14. Perform routine calculations.
  15. Review project drawings and submissions.
  16. Respond to RFIs when requested by the PM team.
  17. Perform other assigned duties.

Similar Work Experience and Skills

The candidate should have worked on heavy commercial/industrial electrical systems, installation of sub-systems, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance experience. Candidates must have knowledge of the following electrical systems:

  1. Distribution systems (high voltage/medium voltage experience).
  2. Electrical protection systems.
  3. Transformers and generators.
  4. Switchgear.
  5. General understanding of modern power conversion systems.
  6. Ability to interpret raw signal data and processing.
  7. Knowledge of networks and communication systems.

Qualifications

  1. A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  2. Proven experience of 6+ years in Electrical Commissioning or similar role.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Experience of working across multi-geography preferred.
  5. Strong numerical skills and IT proficiency (Microsoft tools).
