Role Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operational activities of Sterval Ltd, ensuring the seamless delivery of products, services, and projects across Ireland. This role involves managing supply chain logistics, installation coordination, customer satisfaction, and internal processes to support company growth and service excellence. The Operations Manager will work closely with the Managing Director and department leads to implement strategic initiatives and drive continuous improvement across all operational functions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead day-to-day operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of equipment and services.
  2. Manage procurement, inventory, and supply chain logistics with both local and international suppliers.
  3. Oversee coordination of equipment installations and ensure successful project delivery across multiple client sites.
  4. Develop and optimise operational workflows to improve efficiency, compliance, and service quality.
  5. Collaborate with service, sales, and technical teams to support contract delivery, customer satisfaction, and company KPIs.
  6. Maintain compliance with healthcare and safety regulations (e.g., HSE, ISO, HTM, EN285).
  7. Monitor and report on operational performance metrics to senior management.
  8. Assist with budget planning, cost control, and vendor management.
  9. Support business development by contributing to tenders, proposals, and contract negotiations.
  10. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across systems, training, and reporting.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience in an operations management or senior coordination role, ideally in healthcare, medical devices, or engineering services.
  2. Strong leadership and organisational skills with a track record of managing cross-functional teams.
  3. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and negotiation abilities.
  4. Comfortable managing supplier relationships and logistics processes.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and project planning tools.
  6. Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel across Ireland.
  7. Familiarity with sterilisation or decontamination equipment is a plus.

Desirable

  1. Experience managing installations and service contracts in healthcare settings.
  2. Understanding of regulatory frameworks including ISO 9001, MDR, and HSE standards.
  3. Exposure to public procurement processes or tender submissions.
