Position Summary:

Responsibility for building testers, fixtures and environmental test chambers to the specification standards required. Repairs testers, fixtures in accordance with the fault logging and downtime system. Responsibility for diagnosing the fault and cause of fault and driving appropriate corrective actions to ensure minimal reoccurrence of failures.

Key Responsibilities and End Results:

  1. Supports the Test Engineer in the development and commission of test solutions executing the test qualification of the fixture and program as per the specific system qualification process.
  2. Responsibility for providing the deliverables to support the solution in production to both the Test Support Function and Manufacturing Operations.
  3. Assists in the build and manufacture of testers, fixtures and environmental tooling as required to meet the customer expectations.
  4. The Technician Engineer provides the interface to the Test Support function providing comprehensive documentation and training for all test solutions implemented.
  5. Provides the interface to the Manufacturing function providing comprehensive documentation and coordinating training and education for all test operations implemented.
  6. Through working with the Test Support function monitor and contribute to the improvement of Test Yields, Efficiency, Intermittencies and Uptime providing accurate reporting and clear targets for improvement.
  7. In conjunction with the Test Engineer strives to consistently upgrade the test process balancing cost, coverage with the goal of providing an optimized and cost efficient test process.
  8. Works closely with manufacturing and test support to ensure prioritization of support activities. He/She will be responsible for coordinating the timetable for test readiness based on the weekly production schedule through the appropriate Test Support staff.
  9. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  10. Provide hands-on technical support to the production areas.
  11. Troubleshooting of technical faults, ensuring a fast response and resolution of all issues.
  12. Maintain all production test equipment in excellent working condition, ensuring consistent performance with a focus on quality, output, and yield.
  13. Assist in the installation, set-up, and commissioning of new production test equipment.
  14. Assist in the completion of Test Measurement equipment calibration as required.
  15. Provide input towards the continual improvement of the Test Engineering Department's role within the organization, as dictated by the business requirements.

Person Specification:

  1. Computer literate with intermediate/Advanced MS Office skills.
  2. Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  3. Strong planning & organizational skills and attention to detail.
  4. Proficiency in the English language is a requirement alongside eligibility to work in Ireland.
  5. Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  6. A "can do" work ethic with excellent problem-solving skills.

Essential Criteria:

  1. Minimum level 7 qualification in electrical or electronic engineering or relevant experience.
  2. BS/BA degree in Manufacturing Technology / Mechanical Engineering / Electronic / Electronics / Mechatronics. May substitute experience in lieu of educational requirements.
  3. 1-2 years' experience working as a Test Engineering Technician or similar in the electronic manufacturing industry.
  4. Strong technical writing and good documentation practice.
  5. Strong analytical and PC skills.

Desired Criteria:

  1. Experience in electronic manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  2. Experience in leading process improvements / lean manufacturing activities in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
