The Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity to join a growing tax team at an exciting stage of its growth. Due to continued growth and ambitious plans for expansion in Ireland, RSM Ireland is recruiting a qualified Consultant to join our Indirect Tax team. The role offers the successful candidate the chance to accelerate their knowledge, skills, and development in a creative, entrepreneurial, and supportive team, working with a range of clients.

This is a dynamic role which involves supporting the Indirect Tax management team to deliver Indirect Tax compliance and consulting services.

Responsibilities

• Management of a portfolio of Indirect Tax clients across a range of industries, including Irish PLCs, major multinational corporations, semi-State organisations and significant privately-owned Irish companies.
• Collaborate with Partners and senior management in delivering high-end Indirect Tax advisory and consulting services.
• Support the delivery of Indirect Tax function improvement and optimisation through technology solutions.
• Liaise with clients in a timely and efficient manner, advising, researching, and resolving all relevant Indirect Tax issues and technical matters on advisory assignments.
• Full commercial management for a portfolio of client work.
• Work closely with other RSM business units to identify Indirect Tax opportunities for existing clients.
• Correspond with Revenue and other third parties on behalf of clients.
• Coach, mentor, and review workloads of associate level trainees including delivering in-house Indirect Tax training courses.
• Contribute to the continued development and growth of the practice.

About The Ideal Candidate

• At least 3 years plus experience in Irish Indirect Tax compliance and advisory assignments.
• Experience in VAT on property transactions, RCT, due diligence projects, and cross-border transactions desirable but not essential.
• Experience working in a Big4/Top10 professional services firm desirable but not essential.
• Strong academic record with a degree in accounting, economics, finance, law, or relevant degree.
• Part or fully qualified AITI/CTA or equivalent qualification.
• Excellent ability to direct and drive the success of multiple engagements.
• Experience in managing global relations and client engagements across several jurisdictions.
• Desire to learn and apply knowledge to help clients.
• Relationship management skills to build quality, diverse relationships.
• Ability to contribute new ideas and propose innovative solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Enthusiastic team player and manager with a passion to coach and develop others.
• Aspiring to personal learning and development.
