Post Summary:

To work as part of a team of Early Years Educators, promoting and ensuring high quality care and education for children aged 3 months up to 4.5 years old, in line with current childcare regulations and best practices. Responsibilities include:

  1. Fostering strong social and life skills in children.
  2. Supporting children in becoming active learners.
  3. Working with all stakeholders to ensure that the needs and emerging interests of the children are core in all actions.
  4. Collaborating closely with the parent's group in a confidential and respectful manner.
  5. Acting as advocates for the children in the Day Nursery and liaising with other professionals in the best interest of the child.
Post Status:

Specific Purpose Contract - This position is to cover sickness leave for a permanent member of staff.

Hours of Post:

20 hours per week (10am-2pm)

Salary:

This appointment will be made on the Fortnightly Day Nursery Assistant Salary Scale (€596.64 - €759.16 per fortnight), based on 20 hours pro-rata at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
